Blyth 16/5
I got away from work at 4 and it was a nice evening so I went for a few hours on the river. I thought the rain we had had would have freshened things up but I was wrong. The only things rising were minnows .
The water was ata prefect level but was very cold and cloudy. The way things are going this season I was thinking that things must improve. I'm sure when the mayflies hatch it will get things going.
I ended up with 3 wildies on a little green nymph which I nearly lost up a tree. Sums up the season so far.

Re: Blyth 16/5
It has to be said it has been a bloody awful start to the season... well I think it is too late to say start to the season, April, May are the best months for me.
I have had about six or seven trips out maybe more and all bar two have been shockingly poor, enough for me... I think , I almost certainly wont join this club next year... they said it was predators have cleaned the fish out... but nothing about any plans to counter them.. nothing... it may well be there isn't a great deal they can do but to not even offer up anything is poor form in my book..
A lot of folk I talk to question if it has been stocked at all?
Anywhoo I will give it a go on Sunday afternoon to see what is doing.

Re: Blyth 16/5
I would be asking the club for proof of stocking very unusual to not catch at least 1 stocky from a river they all couldnt have been netted back out ! or been taken by natural predators.
Have a word with other anglers there, see what there thoughts are?
