22nd March 2014.Brown Trout Season.
Is anybody starting there 2014 fishing for the Brown Trout on our lovely rivers and reservoirs here in the North East .
I used to start on the Wear or up the Teesdale Reservoirs.
This year should see the wild browns in good condition because worms will have been washed into the feeder streams with all the mild weather we have had.
I started my reservoir fishing up at Cow- Green back in the 70s. Then i used garden worms and did ok ledgering.
I know worm fishing is a dirty word on a fly forum but i quite fancy packing the worm outfit in me bag and takeing a walk with me dog round Balderhead or Cow- Green. I have a fly /spin combo rod so only need the one rod and a few flies and worms. PB
