Re: No River Reports???
The rivers should be perfect.
I have been down at the Teesbarrage most evenings and the Seals are busy catching the salmon and sea-trout that are lying in the Tidal waters of the Tees.
In a short time and in low water i watched three seals all with fish in there mouths.

Nice one Lee- much more productive than overheated stillwaters then.
Do you see many migratories there?

Re: No River Reports???
I was out a weekk ago with Daz, I had a session on the Blyth ended up with about 4 or 5 brownies to about 9".
Water levels have been so low of late I hadn't been out for about 3 weeks.
also had a trip to Keswick and had an absolutely belting day on the river up there taking about 30 small brownies in 4 hours.. great fun.
Black spider doing most of the damage both up in Keswick and on the Blyth.
Not been overly impressed with the Blyth this year....poor fishing, not a really well run club.
Back on the Derwent next year I think, might rejoin the Blyth if they substancially reduce their subs we will see
All being well I plan to be out on the Blyth this weekend..

Where abouts in Keswick did you fish mate? Going away for a weekends fishing next month and now deciding where to go, either the lakes for browns or Scotland for the pike

Welly- Hawick is always worth a look.
Their angling club is about £50 a year- two stocked lochs, one wild loch (at least) and beats on Teviot (big grayling).
And they have a clubhouse on the high street with good beer!

Re: No River Reports???
Hi Mate. I have had a very poor season on the Blyth. I last trip out was with Stephen and I had a couple of small Brownies. The way things have gone it might be my last until next year.

Re: No River Reports???
Sad to hear that Blyth has been lack lustre this year.
It seems to have been an average year for river rods.
Haven't heard of any outstanding browns and the migratory season looks like it might be mainly Autumn fish- the only salmon or sea trout on here has been Leetheboxers.
I have had one good take all year from the sea trout.
But...September can be an excellent month.

Bit of an update myself- was talking to the gent who oversaw the salmon parr surveys on Balder and Greta early this year.
He was speaking off the record but lets just say he nutshelled it in three ways- the seal and barrage debates are not an issue with Tees (Parr levels tell a different story), under-reporting is almost an accepted practice and lastly...the future is bright for Tees salmon due to parr densities at levels of rives held in far higher esteem.
