Try the Apertiser and the Persuader both classics that still work very well.

the Persuader is a nymph,  I have always tied it as a nymph Shocked another to try is one I got years ago works well on the Wild Browns but takes bows too, bit harder to tye, red floss tail, black wool body, with a silver wire rib, silver bead with a black wound hackle both sides of it Shocked tied on a 12 to 14 short shanked hook. Cant remember the name of it, but it was a nymph it came free years ago with the Troutfisherman mag.

Your the first person to mention this and it's been on twitter and Facebook to with plenty comments, will settle for a variant mate the rib should make the fly stronger and I like to put a rib in lol
