Sweethope Fishing Report 30th June
As the water temperature cools with cooler nights, more cloud cover and a more Northerly wind so the catches have improved. Saturday saw a fine day’s fishing with 21 anglers catching 70 fish. One pair of anglers managed 26 rainbow, 2 blue and 2 brown trout from a boat on the far side of the Great Lough. The trout were enticed out of the reed beds by a Dabbler and by a Kate McClaren.
In total this week we were visited by 73 rods who caught 153 rainbow, 9 blue and 9 brown trout. 73 fish were taken and 98 returned safely to the water.
The most successful fly patterns were: F Flies, Submerged Daddy, Dabbler, Kate McClaren, J.C.H.E. Mayfly nymph, and sedgehog.
