freewater Darlington
I am thinking of having a walk around the Tees from Blackwell to the Dam on Friday morning, trying a few old haunts, thinking all my time 30 years ago was spent around this stretch of river, will be taking a 10' 6# with some fly's I have been tying up recently. Cheap morning out as getting dropped of at one end and picked up at the other

Hope you enjoy your walk. I ts not all about fishing when you get on the river or at least i donk think it is these days.
With a river it changes all the time so you have to learn to read it.
Its also autumn so the winter birds will have arrived and i like to carry me monocular and watch nature.
Had a couple of winners today so i might even make the effort to walk on the Wear.
Its a long time since ive caught a Grayling ,its a smell though that you never forget.
They smell like fresh cut cucumber if you havnt smelt one anybody reading this.
I also think they taste better than trout. They are sweater i think.
Hope you catch a fish anyway. From PB.
