Fish Report-Sweethope Loughs May 27th – June 1st 2013
Anglers have enjoyed fine sport in varied conditions, fishing from boat
and bank. Both Great and small lakes have given catches of rainbow,
blue and brown trout.
129 rods produced a total catch of 247rainbow, 39blue and 10 brown
Trout, the heaviest fish weighing in at 6lbs.
A special mention this week goes to the Benedictine Angling Club who visited on Saturday for a successful event.
Successful flies this week: Cats Whisker, Nymphs, Black Buzzer, Orange Fritz, Dawson’s Olive, Black and Green Montana , Daddy Longlegs, Hoppers and Bibio.

Great sport was to be had on both lakes. The final arrival of some Summer conditions has been a pleasant change.
The lower lake produced the heaviest fish of the week in the shape of an 11lb Rainbow Trout, caught by Neil Irwin of Barrassford on a Daddy Longlegs.
The Great Lake also produced some fine fish. Mark Davis of Gowrie caught an impressive bag of 16 fish using olive green and goldhead
and Mr. L. Scott, fishing with his son caught a very respectable 6lb rainbow trout.
Overall this week 123 rods have visited the fishery, catching a total of 249 rainbow and 63 blue trout.
Successful flies: emergers, buzzers, cats whisker, Dawson’s Olive, sedges, hoppers, black, gold and orange fritz, hares ears,bibio.
