Sweethope Fishery Report 28th June 2015
A good week at Sweethope with as usual very varied weather, from rain to strong winds. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday saw lots of hatches and action on the surface with dry patterns. Many fishermen are taking advantage of the late evenings and fishing up to dark with impressive results, Scott Nellins and Ben Tempson, bringing 20 fish to the boat on Wednesday evening.
Hopefully if Northern Trout’s lorry is back on the road we will be receiving another delivery of fighting fit trout this week.
Statistics:
Number of fish caught: 268 rainbow, 24 blue and 5 brown trout
Number of fish returned safely to the water: 276
Visiting rods: 107
Heaviest fish: 4lb
Best fly patterns:
Hopper, buzzer, Kate McClaren, sedge, muddler, Black Pennel, daddy, bibio, klinkhammer, montana, PTN, bibio, cruncher, Peter Ross.
