Fishery report 20th October

Fish Report-Sweethope Loughs 20th October 2013

Conditions have varied this week: rainy windy and cold, still and misty, sunny and warm. Sometimes all on the same day!
The majority of fish have been caught on or near the surface on dries but almost as many catches have been reported from those fishing near the bottom.
We were visited by 38 rods who caught 50 rainbows and 2 blue trout, the heaviest being a 6lb 1oz rainbow caught from the Great Lake by Carl Bell from Chopwell on an Olive Zonker.
35 fish were taken and 17 returned to the water.
Successful fly patterns:
Orange Fritz, Okey Dokey, Dark Damsel, Yellow Dancer, Olive Buzzer, Hare’s Ear, Dries, Heather Fly, Muddler .
