Fishery report 23rd September

Fish Report-Sweethope Loughs 23rd September 2013

There has been plenty of action at Sweethope this week from fish, anglers and from the elements.
The hardy angler has not been deterred and the week culminated in a visit from the Ashington Kingfishers who enjoyed some excellent fishing in the Great Lake.
24 members of the club were present for the memorial day competition which was won by Stevie Bowden with a total of 12 fish. The rod average for the day was 5.2 fish most of which were caught on Hoppers. All fish were returned to the lake.
Other visitors on Saturday also enjoyed a fine day’s sport with both lakes fishing well.
Successful fly patterns were:
Daddies, Black Pennell ,Heather Flies, Dancer, Cormorant Buzzers and Cats Whiskers.
In addition to the Kingfishers we were visited by 56 rods who caught 100 rainbow, 1 blue and 7 brown trout.24 rainbows were taken the rest were successfully returned to the water.
