I believe it was les a regular there. and your dead right you can never be to careful if I had a £1 for every man I seen in a boat with no life vest or angler in the river with no staff or a cheap walking stick from go out doors. I could pay for next years season tickets.

Lee the worst case i`ve saw this season was a grandad out in a boat with two kids(both primary school age)no life vest on either kids on grandad and all 3 were fly fishing and not a pair of specs between them.Found it shocking, especially as you can imagine the kids were holding the rods two handed and whipping them back and forward. You only get one life and pair of eyes!!! Standing up in boats makes me jumpy when I see it too.
But to have no life vest when they are available for free beggars belief!

I have been told les was fishing in a float tube "one minute he was ok the next he was face down in the water" I felt it was not my place to ask any more questions about the accident

Yes- I spoke to him a fortnight ago. Good to see he's no worse for the ordeal and kept a sense of humour about it all.lee cartmail wrote:LES HAS MADE A FULL RECOVERY AND IS BACK FISHING DID NOT FEEL THE NEED TO PRY INTO HOW IT HAPPENED JUST GLAD HES BACK ON THE WATER
