Langley Dam Empty Langley Dam

Post by Ian Alexander Tue Jun 04, 2013 1:26 pm

Hello,
I am thinking of a run up to Langley Dam and was wondering if all the bank fishing required wading? I'm not too good at the wading and casting thing.......in fact I'm not too good at the casting anyway Laughing
Any more tips if you have them.

Thanks in advance guys, regards Ian

Ian if you can make it on Saturday there will be a few of us at Langley for guidance on wading, casting, flys to use etc. just dont take it from me, I often fall in Shocked usually on the way back to the bank stumbling over rocks etc but gives everyone else a good laugh Twisted Evil

As Andy says plenty of bank fishing too from the dam wall to the left of boat jetty round to the last bay before the trees on far side, the far side your right under the tree's so need to wade out to have any chance of getting a good cast out, the bay in front of the carpark can be fished from the bank too.

Hello, Ian and Andy I can't thank you enough for your advice lads.

I'd love to come on Saturday but I can't make it. I work daft continental type shifts so trying to plan anything when normal people are off is a nightmare. I am at the caravan on Saturday with our lass and her mother and the day is planned for me by the F.P.O. I will make an effort to meet up with everyone at some [p[oint though as this is a great site and has given me lots of help.

Thanks again Ian

Hello Ian, I was thinking of going this morning but when I saw the Langley dam website and people wading it put me off a bit. I hope to do it in the next few weeks but it'll be during the week.
I think I might have a drive down to Sharpley tonight and fish till it closes....back on shifts tomorrow Sad

Regards Ian
