Introduction.
Hello guys,
Some of you may or may not know me on other forums, I go under the name of SeanR91, For those who do not know me I will give you a small introduction!
I am a 22 year old beginner fly fisherman (I ask alot of questions! ) I live in a village in Northumberland called Corbridge and work at a nearby factory called Egger in Hexham.
I work 12 hours shifts and have alot of time off this is why I really had to find a hobby, I have tried a few but this one is by far the greatest!
How did I get hooked on fishing? I did alot of fishing previously but never really bought anything more than a £20 rod, reel etc and a bit power bait for the ressies!
I went to Whittle Dene up on the military road, It was snowing heavy and really cold, I went all the way to Blyth for a pint of maggots!!... Once up there after around 4hours I noticed my rod was twitching, I grabbed it and I just thought my rod was stuck! Then all of a sudden a fish just took off! my adrenaline went mad! After a fair length of time I pulled in a 3lb brown trout (Shouldnt of been in there surely?) And that feeling I got when my friend (a keen fisherman) said I should be proud of that fish, And guess what? I am! Priceless. Them comments from him and the adrenaline combined, Im proud to say I AM HOOKED!
Having watched alot of Fly Fishing videos online my girlfriend kindly bought me an Orvis Streamline 2 8'6'' #5 rod and reel and I have gone from there really.
I have spent a fair few days up on the River Derwent (Derwent Angling Association stretch) And I absoloutly adore it! I havnt caught anything up there YET! But it was at the start of the fishing season I was up there and I have been informed it has started off very slow!
I will keep trying! Check out my blog, SARidleyFishing.blogspot.co.uk
I did catch a couple of rainbows 3-4lb on my fly rod up at a lake called Naworth, Up at Brampton. I did not get the chance to take any photographs as it was absoloutly throwing it down! But I am sure if you keep checking my blog ill be updating it after every trip!
Thank you for reading,
Take care and Tight Lines (so they say!)

Re: Introduction.
Hi Sean, someone else on here frequents Corbridge a fair bit cant remember the blokes name though, but he has a wealth of knowledge Can often be found practicing in a field not far from Whittle Dean, or actually fishing at local spots 3 closest to you Langley Dam, Higham (difficult for some) and Sweethope in stillwaters, and rivers if you live in Corbridge you have the Tyne on your doorstep (lucky person)

Hello Sean, good introduction....welcome to the site.
I have only been flyfishing myself for a few months but I've had some great info and help from the lads on here. Just reading the fishery reports I've picked up loads of good stuff.
Regards Ian
