Bruntroot introductoin
Well, I've been on the forum for a couple of days now and thougt it was time for a bit of introduction, I like to fish mainly rivers for brown trout and grayling, I've been a member of the Derwent Angling Association for as many as years I care to remember, Axwell Park Angling (also the river Derwent)and I'm also a member of North West Durham Angling Association ( Waskerly and Smiddy Shaw). I love tying flies and I keep getting told by my wife that i have way to many.....so there's a question can you have to many flies.....???

Re: Bruntroot introductoin
well bigtel , thats my slant on things you can never have to many.....but i did read once that you could pick half a dozen patterns for example a river and stick with all season and not look at anything else....

Re: Bruntroot introductoin
Welcome to the site Tony, I don't think you can ever have too many fly's but some come into use and go out again, then sit in the box for many moons before they see light again I have many A4 sized fly box's full of bought fly's for when i first started fly fishing, and many many more that I have made myself over the years some work some look pretty and might get a swim one day then again might spend a few months sometime stripping the hooks to use again

F.C
thats one thing I need to do, is strip a load of flies down again....I have an abortion jar on my tying desk full of "c##p" that either were aborted during tying or I've tied and just don't like them....I'll send them through and you could strip my if you gona be on doing yours for a while....
