Fish Report-Sweethope Loughs 15th September 2013

At the time of writing this report there were only four brave souls fighting extremely wet and windy conditions for some Sunday morning sport but up to now the weather has been favourable and has seen some notable catch returns.
Heather flies and other insects blown over the lakes from the banks have encouraged fish to the surface and some anglers have fished with great degrees of success with dry flies. Towards the end of the week anglers were having to vary their approach with successful patterns being nymphs and buzzers.
We were visited by 40 rods who caught a total of 137 rainbow,1blue and 3 brown trout. Heaviest fish was a 4lb rainbow, caught by Steven Perkins of Ashington.
112 fish were safely returned to the water.
Successful fly patterns were:Daddies, heather flies, nomads, black buzzers, Montana, invicta, hoppers, bibio, black gnat, damsel green and white fritz and nymphs.
