Sweethope fishery report 9th September
Sweethope Fishery Report Week Ending 8th September 2013
The end of the week has seen cooler water temperatures and a corresponding increase in fish activity with anglers catching large bags of fish on dry fly patterns from the top of the water.
Heaviest fish of the week was a 5lb rainbow caught in the small lake by Mrs. Chris Slack from Derbyshire. Other notable fish were a 5lb rainbow caught from the great lake by Mr. Ken Little of Alston and a 4lb rainbow also from the great lake, caught by Grant Downie.
Sunday saw Steve Cochrane catch and return 36 fish!
In total we were visited by 48 rods, catching a total of 149 rainbow, 13 blue and 11 brown trout. Successful fly patterns were: Black buzzer, hare’s ear, daddies, diawl bach, sedges, dabbler, Kate McClaren, P.T.N. bibio, Jack Frost.
