Fishing a spate river.
I am watching the river Wear riseing on the webcam sited at the wear at Durham City.
For me thats the start of the Autumn migratory fishing.
I was wondering if there was many members on here that will be out on our local rivers either spinning or fly fishing.
I like to stick with the fly rod ,simply because its been my most popular method to catch fish on.
Ive learnt that i can get away with fishing with a Bibio and a Peter Ross on my cast what flies do you use.?

Not yet- I think it will be tomorrow before any of them are fishable.
My usual spot is 4ft up this morning- write off.
I will be out at 4am tomorrow though.
You can't afford to miss these narrow windows of opportunity.

I used to watch the fish at Eastgate on a Sunday morning when i used to collect mushrooms up Teesdale.
Saw a fellow get a nice Sea-Trout upstream from the Gauge Hut near to the bungalow that sits near the railway line. The fellow caught it on a home made irish quill minnow spinner.
